Developing effective volunteering strategies

AACE has worked closely with ambulance trusts to produce a National Ambulance Volunteering Strategy, phase 1 of which was published in 2023 and phase 2 in 2024.

Volunteers are an integral part of delivering modern ambulance services and we recognise and welcome the significant benefits volunteering brings to patients, staff, organisations the volunteers themselves.

AACE is able to support services with reviewing their current volunteering strategy and associated policies and procedures.

We can assist with developing volunteering strategies where they do not exist or in the refreshing or optimising of existing arrangements.

We can also provide external assurance reviews around volunteering and make recommendations on areas which could be enhanced or improved.
